Africa Bible Study

As most of you know, I am a part of an African Bible Study where we are reading through a book called "Serving as Senders"...

This book is awesome because while there are some people that will actually go there are so many more people that are called to stay right where they can and "serve as the senders"

What does "serving as a sender" mean??

It's support...and there's not just one type of support BUT many! You have:

1. Moral Support
2. Logistic Support
3. Communication Support
4. Prayer Support
5. Financial Support
6. Re-entry Support

It is said that for every missionary on the field they need a team of at least 9 people to send them.

Romans 10:12-15 says:

"For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?"

Notice, it doesn't say "and how can they preach if they do not go"...it says "how can they preach unless they are SENT". Before I started reading the book, I never noticed that verse but now I see its importance.

If you want to serve as a sender, we would love to have you as part of our Africa group...we meet every other Wednesday (7pm) in West Simi...This week we will have the couple who run the Mossyfoot project in Ethiopia sharing more about their ministry. We would love for people to come out and encourage them.

Let me know if you are interested and I will get you the details!
